The Foundation for Constructivism and Concrete Art, or Haus Konstruktiv, was founded by private investors in 1986. Since then it has held 70 exhibitions, published numerous works on this art form, and gained an international reputation.
Haus Konstruktiv is the only foundation of its kind in Switzerland and one of the first in Europe. It is no coincidence that it is located in Zurich, since many major artists – Max Bill, Camille Graeser, Verena Loewensberg, Richard Paul Lohse, Beat Zoderer, Gottfried Honegger – have lived and worked in that city, contributing greatly to the international development of contemporary art.
Today Zurich is viewed as a Mecca for architecture and European design.
As a patron of Haus Konstruktiv since 2006, Crédit Agricole Suisse has been the principal sponsor of several exhibitions and has committed itself to more shows in 2009. This partnership is the practical expression of our shared values, namely creativity, demanding standards and quality. It also emphasises the importance the Crédit Agricole Group attaches to promoting and transmitting cultural heritage.
We are also the main sponsor of the museum’s flagship exhibition, the vast collection belonging to the Brazilian art aficionado Adolpho Leirner, on show from 19 November 2009 to 31 January 2010. This fascinating collection of paintings, drawings and constructions forms its own unique world and shows how Brazilian constructive art has developed over the years.
